Jimbo and Zobel, with their size 11s, were fine with the turn initiation though. Its not a board Id take into the trees or ride in tight spots. Its only a touch weird buttering on the tail compared to the nose but most will really enjoy this board when the stance is centered on the 5 x 2 per binding inserts. The camber ends at about the the last binding insertsgiving the Jones Mountain Twin a whole new feel. However if you are a strong technical pipe rider you will prefer the extra pop from the standard that will help you boost more. Flex: This has a medium flex but it still has a very playful buttery feel for how stiff it is. We have tried many more too depending on conditions, riding styles and moods. Conditions: Really good snow, some lighter left over rockies powdwer, some left over sierra powder along with hard snow slowly changing to slush over the day. For the rider who rides in hard to soft and onlyoccasionalice you will be more than happy with the edge hold. Its easy on approach and forgiving on the landing. Uneven Terrain: Not bad here for such a stiff flex. Almost excellent grip and just a shade behind YES underbite technology. Speed:Pretty fast. Flex: Its a medium flex and it sits right in the middle of medium. There isnt much difference in terms of ride between the 2015 and 2016 Jones Mountain Twin in terms of ride so the 15 review stands pretty much the same. So basically its got about as good carving ability as you can get for the amount of float you get in powder. Carving: We liked the improved edge hold with Middle Bite and it helps the board carve better in harder conditions. Jones always puts out a board with a fast base. Approximate Weight: Its a board you can lap the park with the Yes Standard all day. The one thing with the Standard is you need full-sized disc bindings (not mini-disc) to get all of the directional float it can offer with its slam back inserts in powder. So, all in all, The YES Standard offers up a great all-mountain ride that gives you a little taste of what a Freeride board is like in powder when setting back and a strong all-mountain freestyle ride on non-powder days. Check Their sizes as well for their take and especially so for weight. YES Standard is not for bombing unless you really size up.
I can only recomand this board .. Just took my 2015 Mountain Twin out for a breaking in yesterday. Its now intermediate friendly where before it was mostly for advanced riders. Theyhad a centered stance and a very small camber between the feet that ended before the binding inserts. If you know how to turn its quick. Jumps: Wish there was a little more pop but everything else about the Jones Mountain Twin does great on kickers any size. Set-Up: 21, 21.5 Wide. Set Up: Centered 23 wide 15 front -15 back. The fact that it is an intermediate/advanced board, this price point is standard, maybe even on the affordable side. Looking for an all mountain/park board. Didn't get to try it in pow because of COVID can't wait till I do next year. We didnt try this in powder but based on our experience in powder with former models we just know the new nose, although shorter will float just fine.
yes standard vs jones mountain twin - blantyremalaria.org 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. its a ride that allows you to get a camber feel that allows you to go big with less consequence and floats better in powder. Pipe: Its just the kind of pipe board a really accomplished rider will like but its not a forgiving easy ride for those that arent that strong. Dealing with small inconsistent groomers is easy. So overall, the YES Standard, doesnt have the camber/pop/turning experience that I prefer but it has near excellent grip, butters super easy, floats in powder really well and gives a really forgiving ride. Speed:There is a bit of improvement when it comes to speed and the nose/tail doesnt chatter as much as it use to from 2013 and even 2014. Jumps: Pretty good pop here. Its an easy ride one footing off a chair or flat basing on a long flat run. Boots: Adidas Tactical ADV, Adidas Acerra, Burton SLX, Burton Almighty, Burton Rover, Speed: Very stable and easy at speed between the feet but the nose tail do bounce around a bit more than we would like. Bindings: Burton Diode Its not a bad here though for what it can do everywhere else. You can straightline most runs at moderate to high speeds with confidence and the way it rides wont sketch you out. Goggle: Smith IO Mag, Smith 4D Mag You can actually set it back 1.75 back from center of board with a 22.8 stance width and get close to 1 with the 22.8 Freeride Reference Stance Width. On Snow Feel: Not as catchy as it use to be after the transition from mostly camber to hybrid rocker. We were impressed with its ability to flex when you need it on the tip/tail. So other than the slightly slow turn initiation Id say that this is a board that can make the average rider (like us) happy just about any where on the mountain. The only issue here is the Slam back inserts require a full size disc binding. Its not as hard to butter as you would think but you do have to put a little more strength into it. Super easy to skid a turn and it works for just about any ability level rider. That makes it more aggressive all mountain if you can get a little more set back and directional. Id actually like to see them call this the Jones All Mountain. This review is my honest opinion of the snowboard, which I tested for 2 days in December of 2022. . Days: 15+ On groomers it acts like a twin on edge but in powder this floats more like a directional board. Still its easy to butter. It butters more like a mellow park board which is great for some and a surprise for me coming off off of the Globe Traditionalist or boards like Yes Basic Uninc or Typo. Much more fun to ollie and about the same on the roller coaster line in the park. Same goes for the Basic Uninc and the other seasonal releases in 155 and it is close to the 158s. The sixth insert in each set is set back further than the rest so if your reference stance matches the corresponding sizes reference stance you can still get some set back going on like an all mountain board. So all and all, the Jones Mountain Twin from years 2017-2020 is a fun ride that will fit a wide variety of riders. It has a shorter spooned nose/tail, longer effective edge, slightly tweaked traction tech and a new base. yes standard vs jones mountain twinsouthwest cargo phone number.
yes standard vs jones mountain twin The 2013 Base is one of the fastest bases we came across and if well waxed can glide through almost any extended flat area without issue. 159W: 10.5-11.5 So it still feels like a hybrid camber ride in harder snow but the spoon tech kicks in while in softer snow making it turn a little easier than before. Close to Reference and Set all the way back. Skidded Turns: The rocker in the tip/tail makes the Yes Standard very easy to skid out if you get off your game. Carving: Very fun to carve and this mostly camber board really makes for good lay it out springy carving turns. Then with a set back of -20mm its kind of a stretch for Jones to call this a twin. The Optimistic 2016 and Standard 2017 have the same directional volume twin shape and same camber profile so I can vouch for the Standard. The Jones Mountain Twins base is pretty fast and the board is pretty damp. Its not going to carve like a camber board but its pretty close. Powder:Every Jones board knows the importance of easy float in powder and the more powder days I get the more I appreciate the Jones Mountain Twin. Bindings: Union Force Jumps: The Ghost is better for going bigger but the YES Standard is better for going small to medium while still being forgiving. It stays above the snow well even when its centered.
Yes - Snowboards?, snowHeads ski forum It feels damp and shock absorbent as you pick up speed. 162W: 10.5-12 VerticalScope Inc., 111 Peter Street, Suite 600, Toronto, Ontario, M5V 2H1, Canada. Uneven Terrain: For someone like me with size 9 boots on a 156 this sucked turning through bumps. Both are a bit sluggish turning through the bumps but the MT handles the crowded messy resort snow a bit better than the UMT. The mountain twin is $120 more than the other two, is it worth the extra price? This isnt boring though and you can still get some good turns with the YES Standard. Uneven Terrain: Its medium flex and somewhat forgiving nature so it can handle bumpy end of the day snow rather well. Ethics Statement:We dont get paid by the manufacturer to write these reviews. So much that I bought a Jones Flagship to charge harder. Gamechangers, F.I.T. The pop has improved for 2021 and we feel like we can get a little more air out of an Ollie with the 2021 over past models. Powder: The -20mm setback is now identical to the now discontinued YES Big City so it will be a little short of borderline excellent and do a great job in powder. Jones Mountain Twin Snowboard - 2022/2023. It's just okay at pow, and pretty good in the park. It just helps you initiate the turn a little faster and makes it easier in messy bumps or in the trees on a powder day. We try to get as many images of the Jones Mountain Twin, but forgive us if they're not all there. Jumps: There is good pop and we found it pretty easy to generate our own air. I bought it cause I loved the graphic on it too. Jibbing:This is probably the weakest part of the ride but its not that bad either. Turn Ons/Swipe Right: Stable, tracks well into jumps, fast base, turns easier in soft snow. Works well for Peter too. It holds an edge well enough but also drives well from wall to wall. So in conclusion this is another excellent board from the Nidecker Umbrella that is Jones Snowboards. Boots: Burton Kendo, Burton Ion, Burton Tourist, Burton Imperial, Burton SLX, Adidas Tactical ADV Buttering: Such a great board for buttering. Create an account to follow your favorite communities and start taking part in conversations. If you like mellow turns it can do most radius turns. Uneven Terrain: If your boots fit the mid/wide sizing then you will be able to weave in and out of bumps really well. I want to start learning some butters and hitting more jumps. Boots: Burton Almighty, Burton SLX, Nike Lunarendore The mellow rocker in the tip/tail gives it just enough to make it forgiving on semi-awkward landings. However, I still personally felt out of my element with the wider waist compared to the 2017 model. If you choose the freestyle stance of 22.8 as well you can get .25 back on board and ride it more like a true twin in powder if that is what you are into. Its the kind of board that can butter, carve, ollie, ride switch all over the mountain. Unlike normal Magnetraction this is hardly noticeable unless you look close. In episodes 7-14, Jeremy breaks down the intended performance differences between several closely aligned Jones . Its nothing like its bigger brother theJones Flagshipor its cousin theYes Big Citybut it does a good job with most speed. So if you want to use the slam back inserts a 21.5 stance width is whats required.
Jones Mountain Twin 2023 Review: The Perfect East Coast All-Mountain I have this years 156 jones mountain twin wide and its amazing. It is intuitive to know exactly when to load it up and release it so you can get the maximum pop level to launch you. It is pretty easy to butter too. The Jones Mountain Twin has a medium flex between the bindings with a little softer flex in the nose. With the stance set a little bit back it can be an all mountain directional carver. You always compromise when choosing one board for everything but this is one of the best one board solutions we have come across. I'd ridden Death Grip and it works while not being intrusive. Jones Dream Weaver Snowboard 2023 // Women's. 499.95. I actually prefered the Yes Optimistic because its a little more forgiving and Im not a standout pipe rider. Its got a very diverse personality that can fit a wide range of riders and it does everything very well. The Mountain Twin is a versatile directional twin designed for playful shredders who want one board that can ride- it-all. Even the tip/tail butter easier than they use to. This makes for a very consistent feel underfoot in all conditions when one footing off the chair or flat basing. It doesnt have the spring to the Ghost on an ollie but it sure does butter easier. I think the thing that I like most was how stable it was at high speed on every surface, and how it boogied around trees.
The 2020 Jones Mountain Twin Snowboard Review Jumps: Much better pop than the old design. For a better experience, please enable JavaScript in your browser before proceeding. Boots: Burton Imperial, Burton Hail, Burton SLX, Nike Lunarendor That is the price you pay for being so forgiving a ride. Days: 5+ It makes it very easy to skid a turn and its very forgiving but still has a pretty stable feel underfoot for one footing off a chair or flat basing. With the 158 its 23.5 and with the 154 its 22.5 and so on. That way there are more options for different types of discs on different types of bindings. I thought about trying the 153 but the max stance width is 22.1 so I couldnt even get to my minimum 22.5 stance width for that board. This is a great board for hard to icy snow. cbp ufce authorized equipment list. It just saysyeahokIm in. So overall we love the blunt tip/tail, the addition of middle bite tech and feel its still a great board. Conditions: Pipe: Soo much fun in the pipe. I am much happier on boards like the YES Not So Basic Globe for my boot size. The rocker in the tip/tail makes it really easy.
Jones MT/capita Doa or Yes standart? For an all mountain Final Thoughts on Jones Frontier vs. Mountain Twin The 2018 Yes Standard had a major overhaul. You could easily call it aggressive all mountain or aggressive all mountain freestyle. Its just another improvement on the existing ride. Jones Mountain Twin vs. It tracks super well when one footing off a chair or down a long flat cat track without the fear of catching an edge. Its for those that know how to turn correctly all the time. The Greats is meant to be a True Twin board i discovered that mines cae with a set back of about 2.5cm which would make this board absolutely useless to a goofy rider. We ride all East Coast PA, a lot of icy groomers. Conditions: Pretty good sierra snow. Jibbing: Not a jib board and I wouldnt like to do anything other than a forgiving easy box. Jump to Latest Follow 1 - 12 of 12 Posts . 165W: 12-13 Best Women's Powder-Leaning All-Mountain Snowboard: Jones Women's Flagship Snowboard. (We dont put in the exact weight because with wood cores there is no consistency in a boards weight). The Flex of the YES Standard is medium but on snow it feels much softer. yes standard vs jones mountain twin. Edge Hold: I thought it should have a mellow magnetraction thing that many Yes boards use to have but its not that necessary as I thought it would be. Also if you have to deal with chunder or hammer over the mess instead of weave around it the Standard can do that too. Also if there are any contradictions between the video review and written, go with whats said in the written review. Its not as good as those long freeride super carvers but its about as good as a twin can get. Then throw in a nose with more surface area than the tail combined with a good big of early rise you get more float than you would think for a directional twin.
